Filler Dissolve Service

What is it?

Filler dissolving involves the use of an enzyme called hyaluronidase to break down hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. It is typically used to correct uneven results, lumps, or overfilled areas, or in rare cases, to address complications like vascular occlusion.

The Process

1. Consultation: A full assessment to determine if dissolving is appropriate. A patch test may be performed for first-time users.

2. Injection: Hyaluronidase is injected directly into the filler area.

3. Immediate Action: The enzyme starts working right away, with noticeable results often visible within 24–72 hours.

4. Follow-Up: A review is scheduled after 1–2 weeks. Some cases may require a second dissolving session.

Indications Lumps, migration, or asymmetry from previous filler Overfilled or unnatural appearance Treatment regret Complications (e.g., vascular compromise – urgent dissolving)

Preparation

Avoid alcohol, aspirin, or anti-inflammatory medication 24 hours before treatment (unless advised otherwise). Inform your practitioner of any allergies (especially to bee stings or animal-derived products). A patch test may be required 15–30 minutes prior to injection, particularly if you’ve never had hyaluronidase before.

Aftercare

Swelling and bruising are common and usually settle within a few days. Avoid touching the area, strenuous activity, or applying makeup for 12 hours. No facials, saunas, or intense heat for 48 hours. Arnica cream may help reduce bruising.

Important Notes

Hyaluronidase may also break down your natural hyaluronic acid temporarily. Once dissolved, you may choose to have the area refilled after 2–4 weeks.
